How to Watch Epix IPTV Online on Any Device (No Cable Box Needed)
By Epix IPTV Team · Published · 4 min read
One of the first questions we get on WhatsApp is some version of: "Do I need a special box for this?" Short answer: no. If you can watch YouTube on it, you can almost certainly stream Epix IPTV on it. The longer answer depends on which screen you care about most, so let's go through them one by one.
Quick note before we start: everything below works with the login details we send you, whether you're on a paid plan or the 24-hour free trial. You don't need a new account for each device.
What you need before you stream Epix IPTV online
- Your Epix IPTV login: username, password and server URL (we send these on WhatsApp)
- An internet connection: 15 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps or more if you want 4K
- A player app on the device you want to use (free in most app stores)
That's it. No dish, no technician visit, no rented box that blinks at you all night.
On your living-room TV
Amazon Firestick or Fire TV
Honestly, this is the setup we recommend most. A Firestick is cheap, it plugs straight into the HDMI port, and the remote is simple enough that the whole family can use it. You install a player through the Downloader app, type in your login once, and you're done. Our Firestick setup steps walk through every screen.
Samsung and LG smart TVs
If you'd rather not add another gadget, a smart TV works fine. Install an IPTV player from the TV's own app store, enter your details (some players ask for your TV's MAC address instead), and restart the app. The smart TV guide shows which apps we've tested.
Android TV, Google TV and Nvidia Shield
These are the easiest of all, because everything comes straight from the Google Play Store. If you already own one, start here.
On your phone or tablet
This is where a lot of people end up using Epix IPTV the most, especially for live sports when they're away from home. On Android, grab a player from the Play Store. On iPhone and iPad, use a player from the App Store such as IPTV Smarters Player Lite. Add your account, and your channel list and on-demand library load just like on the TV.
Tip: if you're streaming on mobile data, drop the quality to HD in the player settings. 4K on a phone screen looks great, but it eats through a data plan fast.
On a laptop or desktop computer
Windows and Mac both work. The easiest route is the desktop version of IPTV Smarters Pro, which gives you the same layout you'd see on a TV. If you'd rather not install anything new, VLC Media Player can open your M3U link directly. It's more bare-bones, but it's quick. We wrote a full IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide if you want the step-by-step version.
Can I stream on more than one device at once?
Yes, and this is where plans differ. Each Epix subscription comes with a number of connections, from 1 to 5. One connection means one stream playing at a time. You can install the service on as many devices as you like, but only that many can play at the same moment.
| Who's watching | Connections we'd suggest |
|---|---|
| Just you, one screen at a time | 1 |
| You and a partner who watch different things | 2 |
| A family where the kids have their own TV | 3 to 4 |
| A busy house or a shared flat | 5 |
You can see every option on the pricing page. The 12-month plans are where most people land, since the monthly cost drops a lot compared to paying month by month.
Which device would we pick?
If you're starting from zero: a Firestick for the main TV and your phone for everything else. That combo covers about 90% of how people actually watch. Smart TV apps are great too, but they vary more between brands, so the Firestick tends to be the less fiddly option.
Try it before you pay
The easiest way to know whether Epix IPTV works well on your devices and your internet is to just try it. Request a 24-hour free trial, set it up on the screen you use most, and watch something live in the evening when everyone's online. If it holds up then, it'll hold up any time.
